It would have been msp340 to have a ground pin in that header J5. You will then be prompted to install the drivers. Views Read View source View history. The actual dev board itself still only uses 4 pins but the 2 extra pins are for a UART. I got them when they were free too and I having a hard time to think of a use for them.

All it takes is wires from the programmer to the system. It is recommended that only the ea430 version be installed for proper functionality. Note the small-pitch 4-pin socket for connecting to the programmer board.
