Indomina Releasing Acquires WASTED ON THE YOUNG
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2010) - Indomina Releasing, a new distributor of feature films, acquired all North American rights to WASTED ON THE YOUNG. The deal was completed following a spirited bidding war in the days following the film's international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film, starring Oliver Ackland (The Proposition), Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Alex Russell (Wheeler Boys), was written and directed by first time filmmaker, Ben C. Lucas. The film was produced in Australia by Janelle Landers and Aidan O'Bryan of WBMC. The deal was announced today by Jasbinder Singh Mann, CEO of Indomina Group, overseeing global operations.
"WASTED ON THE YOUNG is a gripping film that pushes the genre of teen thrillers," said Singh Mann. "The film introduces audiences to a whole new group of up and coming talent from Australia, certainly the ones to watch!"
The deal was negotiated by Indomina Releasing's Vice President of Acquisitions Rob Williams, and Head of Business and Legal Affairs Toby Midgen, with Fortissimo Senior Vice President Winnie Lau on behalf of the filmmakers.
"We're proud to be part of this exciting new time for Indomina," said Producer Janelle Landers. "Of all the North American distributors we met with, Indomina had the best connection with the film and its potential and some really exciting ideas for marketing to a young, connected audience."
