If you get something different assuming you have a TEAC try running “Troubleshoot” and see if that corrects it. Tac it disappears from “This PC” is a mystery. I have tried to look for a suitable driver on the web but am a bit dubious about some of the sites that come up. I’ve tried re-booting with the drive plugged in, and with blank and not blank disk inserted. I have checked this device compatibility in Windows 7, and I cannot find any information about this device. We will be happy to help you.

This is always suggested but never seems to work. Before anybody asks, I have tried these disks on another machine and they work OK.

I opened the device properties page for the floppy in Device Manager, selected the Update Driver button on the Driver tab, selected the option to search for driver in a specified location. However, when I insert a floppy, the Floppy Drive tries to continually read the disk as if there is a fault with the disk. I imagine a similar solution would work there.
